All You Kids Out There …

Best of Coach's Corner

This is my “Hello World” of blog entries, so I thought I’d start off easy with a little background of our inspiration.

I grew up in Toronto watching Hockey Night in Canada. It would almost be like a ritual for my family to watch the Maple Leafs play on Saturday nights. During the first intermission we would watch this segment called Coaches’ Corner with Don Cherry.

To sum it up, if Canada and Hockey had sex … Don Cherry would be their baby. He’s a straight shooter type of guy and one of the most outspoken Canadian. I always enjoyed watching his segment because he never sugar coated anything. Don never hesitated to state his opinions and call players out on cheap shots. That’s the difference between him and the other commentators. While the other commentators always carefully sidestepped delicate issues, Don was never afraid to lay down the truth even though it may offend some viewers.

We have been following many blogs over the past 2 years. Frankly, we’re tired of reading about how some Political Science student thinks that textMyPet.com is going to be the next Google. We’re not here to give kudos to anyone or promote a company’s product. Basically we just want to present information as it is. Like Don, we’re not here to watch from the sidelines and say things that will make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside. Even though we may step on some people’s toes, our goal is to stimulate an intellectual conversation about technology, business and occasionally politics.
