Dan Farber has an excellent series called Super Techies. He most recently interviewed Marc Benioff and here are some VERY interesting tidbits that he uncovered.

• Started a company in high school called Liberty Software making games for the TRS 80, Apple II and the Commodore 64
• He started as an intern at Apple programming applications in assemby
• Started at Oracle answering the 1-800 lines
• Later worked as a tele-sales agent at Oracle selling databases
• Before starting Salesforce.com, he originally thought of selling HR software instead of CRM
