eVapt is an Austin based billing solution targeted at SaaS Providers. The solution is centered around the ability for software vendors to accurately track and analyze usage of their applications. Being able to ‘meter’ your customer’s usage behaviour is advantageous on many fronts. Sales reps can better tailor and up-sell subscription packages based on a customer’s usage. With such utilization data, development teams could prioritize features to improve the application. More importantly your customers can even monitor adoption rates and employee utilization.
This is simply not just page views or login rates, eVapt provides deep integration between heterogeneous systems to collect usage information. For example, there is a solution that connects with MySQL to aggregate usage data into a dashboard.
There are several modules to this solution, one being the Business Service Catalog. This is a flexible tool that allows the sales reps to bundle and package features to create a custom subscription. This is important because pricing for a SaaS application is increasingly becoming more complex. In contrast to on-premise software, on-demand applications have more optional features and usage restrictions that factor into the price.

Next week we’ll cover another billing company… Aria Systems.
