Dark Clouds Surround Microsoft Partners

Microsoft has long mastered partner sales channel and in fact that is the primary reason why they were slow to enter the SaaS market. How can they enter the market without pissing off many partners who are already making money off SaaSified Microsoft products? This is mostly concerning for Microsoft ASPs (Application Service Providers); those partners who provide hosting for products like Dynamics, Exchange, Sharepoint and SQL Server. What happens if Microsoft suddenly offers Exchange Online? (like what happened with Dynamics CRM and Office Live) This is the billion dollar question. How can Microsoft delicately get into the SaaS game without stepping on any of their friends’ toes?

To address some of these concerns Intermedia has been chosen to present at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. Their hopes is to address the growing concern of how Microsoft’s new business will cause many partners to realign their products, if they still want to be in business.
